Dear veterinary colleagues,

First of all, please accept our sincere greetings and welcome from Ilha Formosa (the beautiful island) -- Taiwan. We are delighted at your much anticipated visit.

On behalf of the Asian Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (AiSVO) and the Taiwan Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (TSVO), I extend my warm welcome to you as you prepare to attend the 4th Asian Veterinary Ophthalmology Annual Conference in Taipei in 30 August – 1 September, 2014.

It is truly our pleasure to bring many of outstanding veterinarians from different countries under one roof, to exchange ideas/information and to learn about each other's work. I believe this event will contribute to the advancement of new knowledge and techniques in the field of veterinary ophthalmology, and will make great headway in enhancing the overall quality of diagnosis and treatments in veterinary ophthalmology in Asia.

One of the highlights of the conference will be our special invitation to more than ten of the highly respected veterinary ophthalmologists or/and faculty of veterinary ophthalmology from the United States, Israel, Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan. They will join us to share their expertise and experience in veterinary ophthalmology at the conference. Through their in-depth lectures and seminars as well as the hands-on wetlab practice, conference participants will gain the insight of valuable knowledge, and benefit tremendously for their work in veterinary ophthalmology.

As an organizer and host, I pledge my utmost efforts to make this annual conference a success. Colleagues of our voluntary working team have been working very hard to arrange and prepare all details of the Conference for several months. In addition to fulfilling the educational and professional aims of the conference during the 2- to 3-day meeting, it is also my hope that everyone will be satisfied with our service and arrangements, and have a memorable time in Taipei, Taiwan.

Thank you again for your enthusiastic participation, and I look forward to seeing you in Taipei !
